New Work-From-Host at Aleenta Resorts

Recognising a new breed of traveller to their luxury retreats across Thailand, Aleenta Resorts has introduced a Work-From-Host concierge package. The package, which is available on a daily basis* from THB 7340 (£172) per person, provides a concierge service that caters to the growing number of entrepreneurially-spirited guests that continue to be able to work flexibly and from anywhere, as well as solo-preneurs who simply can’t leave their business behind.

Thailand is already a firm favourite with digital nomads, and while for many the work from anywhere window has now closed, for others who’ve set up businesses or opted to work remotely one has permanently opened. According to ONS data released in February, 2022 was a record year for company registrations in the UK with a total of 784,762 businesses registered at Companies House – almost 114,000 more than recorded annually pre-pandemic. Meanwhile LinkedIn has reported that 100% remote roles received more than a fifth (22%) of job applications in February 2023.

The ability to work from anywhere presents great opportunities for off-season and extended travel, however, it also presents a constant balancing act especially when travelling with others. Aleenta Resorts’ Work-From-Host package provides guests with a tailored concierge service that helps them to own their work-place and maximise their personal space.

The package is available at Aleenta’s boutique resorts in Phuket, Hua Hin and Chiang Mai and provides a menu of opt-in services including ‘Work Up’ calls to help guests stop at a predetermined time, brain food, Think Trips to sites of cultural, spiritual or natural interest to provide inspiration, and a 10 minute reflexology break to combat computer slouch. When the working day is done guests can disconnect from the laptop and connect with their friends and family with a wide range of activities from kite surfing to visiting nearby conservation projects, or they can simply unwind by their private pool or in the resorts’ acclaimed Ayurah Wellness Centres.

The package includes:

·         Daily power breakfast – enjoy the right kind of brain food to get the day off to the best kind of start

·         Focus meditation – take time to focus the mind and ensure optimum productivity during working hours

·         Get the Juices Flowing - juice, smoothie, or herbal tea delivered twice a day to get creativity flowing with natural sugars and healthy pick-me-ups

·         ‘Wake Up’ and ‘Work Up’ calls – get started and switch off at predetermined times so the day doesn’t slip away

·         Reflexology – an in-room session to combat computer slouch and promote circulation

·         Home from home office – basic office supplies, use of a conference room (subject to availability) and printer / scanner etc

·         Think Trip – an intentional timeout visiting to a Temple, nature spot or a cultural site to inspire, motivate and stimulate

·         Time Out – maximise leisure time with a locally-based activity (varies per resort from a curated list of activities and nearby attractions)

·         Singing Bowl Meditation – close the day out by letting sound waves relax body and soul, and help quieten mind churn (Chiang Mai only)

·         Wind Down Session – access to the Ayurah Wellness Centre** and your own personal ‘retreat master’.

A menu of activities is also available for any companions that guests are travelling with to ensure they can get their head down during ‘office hours’, as well as a babysitting service.

Anchalika Kijkanakorn, Managing Director at Aleenta Resorts says, “For so many of our guests working on holiday is now part of the plan. Most of the time it’s just for an hour or two a day, but we all know how hard it is to step away from your laptop when we get caught up in things. We’ve developed the Work-From-Host package not just to maximise the time they do spend working but also to help them compartmentalise work and play so they can make the most of our incredible destination and experiences, as well as precious time with family or friends. Our wellness programme is called Ayurah, meaning middle path, and this package has been designed to help them find this balance, between work and play .”

Aleenta Resorts also offer a full range of wellness retreat programmes varying from ‘Mind Balance & Self Love’ and  ‘Endurance Sports Training’ to ‘Detoxification’ which addresses the symptoms of burnout. Retreats are available as add-ons to the Work-From-Host package for a holiday within a holiday.
